Outside Scholarships

Over the years, Campbell University Divinity School students have received additional assistance to fund their graduate theological education through numerous outside scholarship opportunities. Outside scholarships are counted in addition to the scholarships and financial assistance provided by Campbell Divinity School. Because outside scholarships are external to the Divinity School, it is each student’s responsibility to understand and meet the requirements and deadlines of the outside scholarships for which they wish to be considered. Listed below are outside scholarships that the Divinity School has been made aware of.

Baptist General Association of Virginia Scholarships

Who can apply? Active members of a cooperating church of BGAV, enrolled in graduate theological study at an institution fully accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) or CHEA-recognized professional schools, who are called and committed to religious service as a local church minister, missionary, chaplain or denominational servant.

Baptist Women in Ministry of NC Scholarship

Who can apply? The scholarships from BWIMNC provide financial assistance to worthy women pursuing master-level degrees in theological education at North Carolina Baptist institutions. Scholarships are awarded to women who exhibit a clear call and commitment to vocational Christian ministry, academic excellence, demonstrated leadership skills, and expressed support of inclusiveness in all dimensions of life.
How to apply: The Campbell Divinity School Financial Assistance Committee will nominate a master-level scholarship recipient each year. To be considered, contact the Divinity School Admissions Office.

Baptist Women in Ministry of GA Scholarship

Who can apply? Annually, the Baptist Women in Ministry of Georgia award a scholarship to a Baptist woman who is from or currently resides in Georgia, and who is currently enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral Program. Applicants may attend a Baptist or non-Baptist seminary.

Who can apply? Scholarships/grants from the Blackwell Memorial Fund provide assistance to men and women from NC who feel called and are preparing for ministry within the Baptist tradition. Scholarships are awarded to persons who are members of FBC Winston-Salem, persons who are from Forsyth County, NC or members of Forsyth County, NC Baptist Churches, or persons who are residents of NC and members of NC Baptist churches.

The Jack and Mary Lib Causey Fund

Who can apply? The Causey Fund provides scholarships for individuals enrolled in accredited degree programs who are preparing for or continuing their education for ministry. While a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree remains the standard educational credential for ordained ministry, individuals pursuing ministerial preparation through other accredited degree programs may also apply. Scholarships for doctoral students in Theology & Ministry are available on a limited basis for North Carolinians who are applying to or enrolled in programs as a means of enhancing their leadership within Baptist congregations and other ministerial settings. Typically, these programs include those leading to the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.), Doctor of Theology (Th.D.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. Students from North Carolina attending schools outside the state are also encouraged to apply for Causey Fund scholarships. Scholarships are awarded for the upcoming academic year in the preceding May and for the Spring Semester in December.

Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) At-Large Leadership Scholarships

Who can apply? Baptist students enrolled in a Master of Divinity degree program or master’s level theology degree at an accredited institution of higher education may apply for the CBF At-Large Leadership Scholarship.  The Ministries Council of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship will recommend these scholars based on the application of the students and the belief that the students selected represent the best possible potential local ministry leaders for the mission and the ministry of CBF.

The Randall and Lou Lolley Scholarship

Who can apply? This scholarship is the most comprehensive of all CBFNC scholarships and requires potential recipients to be nominated by someone who can speak to the candidate’s outstanding promise for Christian ministry and excellent potential for graduate-level work.
How to apply: There is no application for this award. Students must be nominated. All nominees must be beginning their Master of Divinity program in the Fall term following the awarding of the scholarship.
