Master of Arts in Christian Ministry

Are you interested in pursuing graduate theological education to, but are unable to attend a fully in-person program? The Master of Arts in Christian Ministry (MACM) is a professional degree designed to prepare men and women for specialized ordained and lay ministry. 

Beginning Fall 2022, the MACM degree program will be offered in an online-hybrid format. This format is structured with online and retreat-based courses. This is a cohort model that allows students to form strong bonds with those who will be making this same transformational journey alongside one another.

The MACM degree requires 48 semester hours. The online-hybrid format allows students to complete the degree program in 2.5 years. Students will take 9 credit hours each Fall and Spring term and 3 credit hours for one Summer term.

Course Delivery

The MACM online-hybrid format will consist of three course formats. The majority of courses will be virtual evening courses delivered via Zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 – 8:30 pm. Along with the evening Zoom classes, one course a semester will be offered in as a retreat-hybrid course. Retreat-hybrid courses are delivered fully online with the exception of one two/three day, in-person retreat. Retreats will be held at the University or a retreat center that is centrally located to the school and cohort members. The remaining course format will be one fully online summer course.

This online-hybrid degree provides a foundation in the theological disciplines and specialized training in the area of Congregational Leadership. Throughout the curriculum, students are led to develop their spiritual lives and to engage in theological reflection and dialogue.

Transfer Information

Transfer students must have a 2.0 grade point average on all work completed and a 2.0 on work done at Campbell. Regardless of the number of credits eligible for transfer, the majority of credits toward the Master of Arts in Christian Ministry degree must be completed through instruction offered by Campbell University.

 

Learn More – Virtual Information Sessions

Join us for a brief virtual information session to learn more about the details and structure of the NEW MACM online-hybrid option! The information session will also include information on how to apply and our generous scholarship assistance. Admissions staff will lead the sessions and will be available to answer questions. Daytime and evening virtual event options are available to maximize accessibility. To allow for as much personal interaction as possible, all information sessions will be conducted live via Zoom. Registered participants will be emailed a link to the session prior to the event.
