SEGUE YOUTH CHOIR PRESENTING
FREE CONCERT AT CAMPBELL
The Segue Youth Choir Concert will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 6:30 p.m. in Butler Chapel on the Buies Creek campus of Campbell University.
“The Segue Grand Concert is a snapshot of the synergy experienced when youth choirs from all over our region join together in worship and celebration,” explains Dr. Larry Dickens, Adjunct Professor of Worship and Church Music, and one of the conductors. Joining Dickens in leading the choirs will be the Reverend Benny Edwards and Dr. Robert Williams, Associate Professor of Music at Fayetteville State University. He is also Director of Music at McPherson Presbyterian church in Fayetteville.
One Voice, the 40-voice youth choir of First Baptist Church, Southern Pines, is the honor choir for the event and is led by Edwards. Youth choirs from First Baptist Church, Cary; New Hope Baptist Church, Raleigh; Wilkesboro Baptist Church, Wilkesboro; First Baptist Church, Smithfield; First Baptist Church, Wilson; and Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, Fayetteville, will join One Voice in providing the music for the sacred concert.
Segue, co-sponsored by Campbell University Divinity School and Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, is a one-day, high energy event for youth choirs who are transitioning to the next level of ministry. “The Segue experience is inspiring youth choirs to new levels of excellence and ministry. It's a high energy event designed for deep impact,” says Dickens who is also Minister of Music at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church.
